Forge Parkside Centre
The Forge are currently working with BMBC and Developers to bring a brand new energy efficent community and sports venue to Parkside at Hoyland Common.
This new multi-million pound centre will provide a home to both existing and new sports and community activities.
Elsecar by the Sea Gala
Our annual community gala held in early September provides the opportunity for individuals, families, groups and organisations to come together and celebrate their great works and have fun.
This free event as been held in Elsecar Park for over 15 years and is a proven community asset.
Health and Education Training
Supporting local people to develop their skills, self-esteem and their families future. A point of contact for people to discuss their future potential. Through none stigmatised delivery that supports people on their learning journey.
The Rockingham Centre
A premier community venue that offers a wide variety of sport and social facilities for: conferences, social functions including wedding receptions, disco's, birthday parties, dances, Concerts, martial arts classes along with a number of sports.
Hoyland Cap
The local area Community Access Point that provides a place on the Internet to celebrate and promote community activities and find out about the local community.
Blacker Hill Hub
A highly prized community venue available for use by the wider community and current home to Little Explores Day Nursery and a Rural Post Office.
People
Who We Are
The Forge Community Partnership is a made up of community groups and local activists who, through an Executive Committee, oversee a staff team running a range of projects and activities.
The Executive Committee:
Chair: Michael Sanderson has been the Chair for many years, and is an active member of Hoyland Methodist Church and a governor of schools in Barnsley.
Vice Chair: Robin Franklin is a local businessman and councillor, he is also a member of the Milton Hall group.
Financial Officer: Paul Reckless is very active in groups in Pilley and Tankersley, and is the Finance Director of a local business.
Minute Secretary: Hilary Simmons is involved in many local projects including the Barnsley Foodbank and Starter Packs.
The Staff Team
Our staff team is led by Neil Spencer: Chief Executive and Company Secretary.
Project support and Administration by: Joanne Robinson.
Healthy Lifestyle and Parent Education is led by: Katherine Spencer.
Forge Family Foundation and Parent Educator: Natalie Boswell.
Anvil Staff
Martyn, Chris, Peter and David provided the practical support and maintenance across all the Forge's buildings and projects.
